Exporting and importing users

This article covers how to import and export users in Progression.

Exporting users from Progression

Follow these steps to export users from Progression:

  1. Using the left side navigation menu, scroll to your organisation's name, then hit 'People'

  2. Here, you'll see a list of all users in your organisation

  3. Click 'Export users'

  4. Finally, choose whether you'd like to export active users or all users.

     

Importing users into Progression

Follow these steps to import users into Progression:

  1. Using the left side navigation menu, scroll to your organisation's name, then hit 'People'

  2. You'll see a list of all users in your organisation

  3. Click 'Import and sync users'

 

Next, you'll see a screen where you can select a CSV to upload.

 

💡To ensure you upload users in the correct format, we recommend downloading an export of your current Progression users and using this as a template when importing users back in.

User statuses for importing

You can make changes to your user CSV to reflect each user status.

There are three different account statuses a user can have, which will need to be added to the 'account_active' column for each user on the CSV.

Active users can log in and use the platform. You'll be charged for each active user.

Pending users have not yet been sent an invite. They can't log in and you won't charged.

Archived users are no longer active and can't log in. You won't be charged for archived users.

Remember, you'll need to add the status, without any symbols or additions. For example, for active users the account_active column should just say Active.

Once amended, you can import and sync the users from the same page in Progression.
